AIRSPACE REVIEW (airspace-review.com) – Departemen Luar Negeri Amerika Serikat telah menyetujui penjualan 100 rudal udara-ke-udara jarak menengah ke Spanyol senilai 248,5 juta dolar AS. Badan Kerja Sama Keamanan Pertahanan (DSCA) mengatakan hal itu dalam siaran beritanya pada Rabu, 2 September 2020.

The State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of Spain of one hundred (100) AIM-120C-7/8 Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAM) and one (1) AMRAAM Guidance Section (spare) and related equipment for an estimated cost of $248.5 million. 

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale today.

The Government of Spain has requested to buy one hundred (100) AIM-120C-7/8 Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAM) and one (1) AMRAAM Guidance Section (spare). 

Also included are KGV-135A encryption devices; containers; weapon support and support equipment; spare and repair parts; publications and technical documentation; U.S. Government and contractor engineering, technical, and logistics support services; and other related elements of logistical and program support.  The estimated total cost is $248.5 million.

Departemen Luar Negeri, tulis DSCA, telah membuat keputusan yang menyetujui kemungkinan Penjualan Militer Asing kepada Pemerintah Spanyol, yaitu seratus (100) AIM-120C-7/8 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAM) dan satu (1) Bagian Panduan AMRAAM (cadangan) dan peralatan terkait dengan perkiraan biaya 248,5 juta dolar AS.

Ditambahkan, rudal baru tersebut akan meningkatkan kemampuan pertahanan Spanyol dan Amerika Serikat melalui aliansi NATO.

Raytheon Missiles and Defence yang berbasis di Tucson, Arizona akan menjadi kontraktor utama penyedia rudal ini.
